4 What do you love about farming?

Farming has its ups and downs as with any job, but on the whole I’m very happy. I love seeing the changing seasons and the fruition of a year’s hard work. I also love working outdoors, I don’t think I’m really cut out for office life!

5 How long farming?

About 23 years.

6 Most memorable season?

Probably this year, 2018, for two reasons; I’ve never known such endless sunshine, its been wonderful to be able to enjoy it, and of course because of the flip side, the drought and how its affected our crops.

7 What do you love about your area eg cereals chicken’s potatoes?

Ha ha! Good question, I love hens because of their inquisitive behaviour, believe it or not, they all have their own individual character and its amusing to take a minute and watch them.
Potatoes are the mainstay of our business and there’s a lot of teamwork involved which pulls us all together which is important in a family business such as ours.
Cereals are our biggest enterprise by hectare, and I love seeing the patchwork of fields of different crops particularly from the air. We have worked hard in recent years to identify local markets for our grains, and it’s nice to know things like our malting barley ends up being used in local craft beers, and our milling wheat makes loaves at Warburton’s.

8. Little known fact about you
